Introducing IskraHolo

Late last year, a conversation began among a group of academicians across Southeast Europe. The topic was a familiar one: the unique and often overwhelming challenges faced by small, independent, and academy-led journals in our region. How can we maintain the highest standards of scholarly publishing when faced with limited resources, complex technical hurdles, and the ever-present need to increase visibility?

These discussions, fueled by a shared passion for advancing regional research, didn't just end. They sparked an idea. Today, we are proud to announce the result of that collaboration: the formation of IskraHolo.

For Academics, By Academics

IskraHolo was founded and is funded by the very academicians who took part in those initial conversations. We are not just a service provider; we are a mission-driven partner dedicated to empowering academic publishers in Southeast Europe. Our goal is to bridge the gap between limited resources and industry best practices, ensuring every academy-led journal has the tools and support it needs to thrive in an increasingly competitive global landscape.

The name IskraHolo was carefully chosen to reflect the essence of our work. It combines the creative spark (iskra)—a symbol of new ideas, knowledge, and innovation—with the Holo component, which signifies technological precision, digital representation, and interactivity. In essence, IskraHolo metaphorically represents "a spark in a hologram": a perfectly formed scientific idea that, thanks to technology, is precisely and interactively presented in the digital world.

We believe in the power of open-access publishing and are here to foster partnerships that help journals grow their reach and impact.

A Partner for the Future

IskraHolo was born from a need within our own academic community. We are here to serve that community by providing tailored solutions that remove barriers and create opportunities. We believe that the incredible research being done in Southeast Europe deserves world-class journals in Southeast Europe to reach a global audience.

Let's continue the conversation.
